ECARC Information Net

The club holds an information net every second Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm on the 2 meter repeater. This net covers any and all topics related to amateur radio. This net is facilitated by Robert KD5YHY and Cathy KE5DIO and their efforts are greatly appreciated by the club. Check in to the next net and learn something new about the exciting hobby of amateur radio, or pass on your own knowledge of radios and antennas to rest of the group.

ECARC Club Meeting
The club holds its monthly meeting every third Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Waxahachie Central Fire Station Training Room, 407 Water St. in Waxahachie. Talk in on 145.410 (110.9 pl).

Ellis County Skywarn

Ellis County RACES provides storm spotting to the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth during severe weather in North Texas. This activity is known as a Skywarn Net(or network). The Amateur Radio Operators that participate in these activities are unpaid volunteers. These people have passed their FCC Amateur Radio exams and been certified to spot storms by participating in a Skywarn School held by the National Weather Service. You do not have to be a HAM to go to the Skywarn School and it is recommended that the general public attend. However, you do have to hold a valid Amateur Radio license in order to participate in a Skywarn Net. See Getting Started In HAM Radio for more information about getting your Amateur Radio License.
