I have found that if the image I want to show is too deep into the folder tree, it will not display.

Below you will see the link field I am talking about. If the link has too many characters, it will not display even though the software accepts the link.

Winter Field Day 2024 Planning

It's that time again.

Winter Field Day (WFD) will be held at my property, 2590 Derrs Chapel Rd, Italy, TX 76651. We will meet at the Denny's in Italy at 8:00 AM. After Breakfast, we will caravan out to the WFD site. Club PC's will be provided for logging. Click here to download the WFD rules.

WFD is Jan 27-28.

SET UP
Set up looks like will be Matt. in the CW his trailer. My radio trailer will have a digital station and a SSB station. Luke is planning a tent set up with SSB. Antennas will be mostly EFHW and vert. We will try to run everything with battery power if possible. I have generator if we have to go to that. propane for heat. Justin is bringing the club laptops to log. We will try to control the band use so there is not a lot of interference. You are welcome to come out and test out your equipment if you want but we will be running only the 4 stations for the record.
Food.
This will be a fly by the seat of pants year. We can go grab some Golden Chick for lunch. Texas Best BBQ for Dinner. 5PM. Please bring goodies if you want. I will have tables set up in shop for eating and hanging out. Charging can be done here as well.
Testing Session
Micah will be doing VE testing at 2PM upstairs in shack. Sign up at Hamstudy.org
Operating
We plan on running Mobile Category. They have changed the rules so it is not a competition but more of a EMCOM drill thing. As usual not may have signed up for operating positions so please come get on the mic. We will probably run full overnight. I do have the shack upstairs where you can crash for nap if needed (Justin). I do not have my camp trailer this year. It will be a busy day Saturday with some mesh installation and testing etc. so don't be shy about getting some air time.
Weather
It looks like a week of rain leading up to WFD but we should be able to set up on dry area. Highs in the 50's. Mud will be fun for antenna set up but we will make it work.
I will be out of town some this week so not a lot of prep time. This is supposed to be a EMCOM type drill anyway.

Known Website Bugs

The following are known website bugs that I have not been able to fix - YET:

  1. Google Chrome Browser - Logoff does not work on all computers.
Workaround - Closing Chrome will reset to login.
  2. The 3 horozontal bars menu on the right side of the header may appear missing on the mobile views. The menu function still works but image is missing. Tap on the right side opposite the top logo to get to the menu.
  3. Learning Management System - Once you take a quiz, you cannot re-take it.
Workaround - Notify the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. you wish to retake a quiz noting him of which quiz(es) you wish to re-take. He will delete your old quiz so you can retake it.
  4.  Some links appear to be inactive when selected. This can occur when the screen size view is enlarged (Cntl-Mouse wheel). It is caused by the enlarged parts of fields to overlap. Reduce the size of the screen until all of the header bar is on one line.  This usually caused by the different elements on the screen overlaping with one another.
  5. Thumbnail Images are not appearing.
Workaround - Click on an image placeholder. It will take you to the gallery where you can view the images.
